Tom provides executive leadership for CoralTree Hospitality Group. Launched in December 2018, CoralTree is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Los Angeles based Lowe. The new management company was born from the acquisition of Two Roads Hospitality. He is among the top Two Roads and Destination Hotels executives who formed CoralTree offering nearly 50 years of proven experience as owners, developers and managers of world-class independent luxury and lifestyle hotels and resorts. Tom was with Destination Hotels for more than two decades, followed by Two Roads Hospitality where he was Chief Operating Officer for both companies. He started with the company in 1998 at Sunriver Resort in Oregon where he was Managing Director and a Limited Partner in the business. He previously held senior resort and hospitality executive positions with The Woodlands Corporation in Texas, where he oversaw the hospitality division including resorts, hotels, corporate conference centers and club operations, along with master planning the 36,000-acre community.
Tom also has held various executive and leadership roles with Busch Properties, operating and expanding hospitality, golf, club and condominium developments. After graduating from college, where he was managing restaurants in Miami, Tom joined Gaylord Hotels in Nashville, Tenn., and held an executive-level role in management for the original Opryland Hotel. Tom is an active member of the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s Resort
Committee, the Urban Land Institute and is the founder and board member of The Wonderland Express, a non-profit organization that provides memorable holiday experiences to economically challenged and at-risk families in Central Oregon.
He is a two-term past Chairman and Board Member of the Oregon Tourism Commission and the one of the original founders of The Cascade Culinary Institute. Tom is currently a member of Vistage Worldwide and newly appointed Board Member of the Colorado Lodging Association. Tom received his Bachelor of Science degree from Florida International University in Hospitality Management.
Tom is married to Stacy Luersen for the past 38 years and has been blessed with three wonderful children, Chris, Mary Catherine and Jesse and is now the proud Grandparent of two beautiful girls.
