Tesla Wells is an algorithms engineer and technology strategist at Mobi. An astronautical engineer by degree, they began their software career at SpaceX and Millennium Space Systems. Though working on robots in space was cool, Tesla pivoted to study AI “explainability” when they returned to MIT for graduate school. Their research combined scheduling and logistics algorithms with complex human-preference-models. Now, at Mobi, Tesla is applying their research to modeling the subtleties of user preferences and generating itineraries sensitive to the specific wants of each user. Their technical work and design philosophy is greatly inspired by data-ethics and human-computer-interaction research. Tesla is also an internationally competitive fencer and is making a run for Paris 2024.
