Daniel del Olmo is Founding Partner of The Passionality Group, which advises, invests, incubates and grows nascent hospitality brands that invoke genuine passion, represent authentic hospitality innovation and have meaningful potential for growth.
The Passionality Group is focused on growing its portfolio in three complementary verticals: Lifestyle food & beverage, experiential travel and lodging operations. Investments to date include a $120M, select service 8-hotel Northeastern U.S. portfolio; Podshare, a co-living concept; New York City-based, award-winning Wafels & Dinges; Vagabond Coffee and Stockholm Social. Currently incubating a neighborhood lodging collection brand with various locations under development across Los Angeles, Denver and Miami.
Prior, Daniel was CEO of Disruptive Group, a $500M subsidiary of lifestyle hospitality company sbe. Daniel was responsible for a 140-venue global portfolio of award-winning restaurant and nightlife brands including The Bazaar by José Andrés, modern Japanese brand Katsuya, Mediterranean brand Cleo, Umami Burger, Michael Schwartz’s Fi’lia, Hyde, Doheny Room, SKYBAR and more.
Prior to Disruptive Group, Daniel was President, International of Dine Brands Global, the holding company of Applebee’s and IHOP and the world’s largest full-service restaurant company. Daniel also held various executive roles with Wyndham Worldwide including Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Latin America, Senior Vice President of TRYP by Wyndham and Chief Performance Officer, as well as other leadership roles with Amadeus Global Travel Distribution and Melia Hotels International.
He was a recipient of Hotel News Now’ Hospitality Innovators’ Award and the Chairman’s 2012 ‘WYN Together’ recognition for exceptional collaboration amongst Wyndham Worldwide’s business units. While at Melia Hotels International, he was named “Rising Star” by Travel Agent magazine in 1999, 2000, and 2001.
Daniel is an active member of YPO, resides in Los Angeles and is a Belgian native. He speaks six languages, including Spanish, Dutch, French, Italian and Portuguese. He graduated from University of Hasselt in 1996 with a degree in Applied Economic Sciences and in 1997 with a Master of Business Administration degree.
