President | SLDesign
With over 20 years of design experience from large-scale hospitality properties to unique restaurant experiences, Chris Sheffield’s portfolio includes dozens of award-winning hotel, restaurant and nightlife venues nationwide. Since founding SLDesign in 2005, Sheffield has worked with many of the most well-known, successful restaurateurs and operators in the industry. Dedicated to delivering experiences that inspire and endure, Sheffield’s design philosophy is not driven by a strict linear theme that ties the project to a specific place or time, but by a broader narrative that embraces a variety of interests and styles that evolve over time, allowing guests to fill in the blanks with their own histories and
experience, enhancing their connection to the space.
Notable projects include: American Fish, a fine-dining restaurant for James Beard awardwinning chef Michael Mina at City Center in Las Vegas; 675 Bar, Dos Caminos and Bill’s Bar & Burger for renowned restaurateur Steve Hanson; Postcard Inn for Barry Sternlicht and Starwood Capital; Caffe Storico for acclaimed restaurateur Stephen Starr; No. 8, the exclusive bi-level lounge setting for Amy Sacco’s return to New York nightlife; Pub 1842, a new dining concept for Mina at MGM Grand Las Vegas; Buffet Americana, a 400-seat Buffet Restaurant at MGM’s Gold Strike Casino Resort; American Cut, a modern steakhouse for LDV Hospitality and Iron Chef Marc Forgione in New York’s Tribeca neighborhood; Barchetta, an Italian seafood trattoria for Esca’s Dave Pasternack and LDV’s John Meadow in New York; stylish new outposts for LDV Hospitality’s Corso Coffee and the award-winning Dolce Italian at Buckhead in Atlanta, GA; Harold’s Meat + Three , the signature all-day restaurant at the Arlo Hudson Square in NY; and, most recently, the 107-room JDV Hotel Revival in Baltimore, MD.
